As soon as you tilt it a little the liquid will spill out and before you know it you have piping hot tea causing first degree burns. Not only that, you'll burn yourself if you pick up the bowl yourself. I used it to brew boiling 200 degree herbal tea and almost burned my fingers and almost dropped the cup on the floor. This mug fails in its purpose of being not just a travel mug but a mug itself. I don't think I've ever come across a mug that almost burned my hands. It's hardly good for home use anymore. Now it will be an expensive $12 decorative pen holder.
