Review on Fujinon XF14mm F2.8 R Lens by Bobby Montoya

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Fujinon XF 14mm F2.8. You can't go wrong.

I am using 14mm on the XT-1. I'm talking about prime numbers. I was thinking of a new 16mm lens. After reading some reviews I decided the 14mm lens was a good choice. I used this lens for several shots. All lenses have their advantages. I still find pros on the 14. I can tell you that shooting with this lens is a pleasure. Wide-angle artifacts appear at the edges, at f2, but stop this lens at f8 by 11 and you'll be amazed by its design prowess. If you want a weatherproof lens and an extra stopper at 16mm then this is a larger lens I'm sure it's great. Personally, I think the 14 is a great wide-angle lens to carry in your pocket. Sharp response, fast focus, great resolution, great geometry - you can't go wrong with any lens, the 14th is cheaper. I love my Fuji gear, I compare it to driving a responsive sports car. I've been a professional photographer for thirty years, I fell in love with my x100 and fell in love so much with my XT-1. Gear is a tool, after all. If you have the right tool, you can work intuitively.

Pros
  • 21mm equivalent focal length on APS-C cameras
Cons
  • Too long to wait
