Water fill hole is smaller than a hose, so filling is slow and wastes a lot of water. I can not imagine trying to get sand through that small hole! Once full of water the plastic bottom is so weak that it bows out and gives the stand a weighted round bottom. Great if you want a self righting cup for a todder, not so good for holding up an umbrella. Needs ropes to the fence to hold the umbrella up, even without a breeze.Added to the stability problem, the pipe that holds the umbrella is only held in place by the weight of the stand. Any attempt to pick up and move the weight drops the pipe out of the stand.
