Metal strap like original. It is wrapped in the package and the paper backing is slightly twisted. During application, when removing the backing paper, care must be taken to smooth out any bumps or creases in the metal band left by the backing paper. I know what you're thinking, there can't be creases on the metal band, but you're wrong, there are small "bumps". But with a little care everything will be fine. This is a great product and I would buy it again if the need arose.
