Review on ๐Ÿ–‹๏ธ Nakajima WPT-150 Digital Typewriter by Jason Melvin

Revainrating 5 out of 5

There aren't many options for a typewriter these days!

Brother, Nakajima looked at and restored vintage cars. Vintage equipment is very expensive and vendors have serious attitude problems. The Brother machine didn't have good reviews and didn't have good reliability. Nakajima WPT-150 seemed like the best choice. Nakajima is an OEM for 6-7 brand typewriters (Adler, Canon, Olympia, Swintec, Royal, Olivetti, Sears) that have since been discontinued due to market shrinkage. So Nakajima seemed like the best choice. It turned out that the WPT-150 met our needs quite well. It does everything a basic typewriter should do and more. And for about $135 with shipping, what's my risk? We use it for labels, 3x5 cards, letterhead and other typical typewriting work. It becomes very easy over time. I spoke to service reps in North Carolina to ask a few questions about sourcing and part numbers for ribbons and print wheels. I was very impressed with their friendliness and technical knowledge. After using the typewriter for a few days, we bought 6 ribbons (#XC001), a pack of correction ribbons (#LO001), and an Orator 10 wheel.

Pros
  • Brings joy
Cons
  • Sad packaging
