Wow I read some of the other reviews AFTER using it for a few days and I was stunned. Never thought there could be so many reviewers in need of cognitive help. I always thought it was the SOP to put the hose in hot water to attach it to something to get a good seal. I got this for my 85 year old family member and she only had one issue (see below), she was able to put it together correctly (valve falling off folks) and not break it on the first try. The only problem was that the screen in the suction cup was too flat, so she got dirt that she tried to pick up by the pipe. She found the hose to be the right size and length for the tank sizes it was designed for. Because it's a standard 1/2" hose, it's easy to swap out if a longer length is needed. She really likes having a valve, given the brand name she's been using for years at all has no valve. It doesn't leak but she said even if she did it would be better than not leaking at all because then the only way to stop the flow is to break the siphon. A real bargain and considering the price We recommend.
