Amazing Soldering Station

I have been using a Hakko FM-203 dual station module at work for many years. I ended up pulling the trigger and purchasing the FX-951 Single Station for home use. It uses the tips and pins of the same series. The tips heat up very quickly, go into sleep mode and seem to last forever. At home I restore old radios and old hi-fi equipment. A range of soldering equipment is required, from large, powerful soldering irons to small soldering irons like this one. I can get into tight spots if needed, and it's also very well controlled to deal with fragile vintage circuit boards that more brute force would shatter. My first use for this was to re-solder a broken spiral in a meter movement. The job took me 3 hours but without this soldering station I wouldn't even try! At work I use this station to prototype and modify circuits for surface mount. A bit pricey and maybe too expensive for some people. But it's worth it if you do a lot of delicate work.
