I have been using a Hakko FM-203 dual station module at work for many years. I ended up pulling the trigger and purchasing the FX-951 Single Station for home use. It uses the tips and pins of the same series. The tips heat up very quickly, go into sleep mode and seem to last forever. At home I restore old radios and old hi-fi equipment. I've been looking for a good quality, inexpensive soldering station and I think it's great. What I like about it is how quickly it heats up. From cold to 800F+ in about 10 seconds. The sleep function works great. Remember that you must insert the tip very deeply into the mount so that it hooks into the electrical connector.
