Review on Wi-Fi router ASUS RT-AX86U, black by Ryan Limkk ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The quality is at the level, I am satisfied with everything.

Switched from AC86U for the purpose of deploying an AX MESH system. Speeds on AX (AC9260 and AX201) received from 800 to 950Mbit in the 2R2T scheme. iPhone 11pro gives out an average of 850Mbps (iperf3). Oddly enough, but 4 cores of 1.8 each in temperature is stable 60g against the old processor 2 * 1.8 (AC86) where it was up to 85g. In general, AC86U worked for me and AC86U for 3 years without failures, but the revision of the chip is still better. In OPVN 4 cores pull out 300Mbps. Cable channel up to 2.5Gbps. Power coverage is sufficient confidently for 70 sq. M. Setting up the functionality is clear and simple.

Pros
  • Convenient setting functionality. Design, build quality.
Cons
  • Price The power connector in the PSU is already of a larger diameter and from the old AC86U PSU router will not work.

Has pros: Quick! Holds a load (16-20 devices, including NAS and 2 4K TVs) and does not get hot (I have the first one, everyone got very hot) Has cons: When running in DualWan Load Balancing mode, you cannot enable Adaptive QoS and Traffic Analyzer. When enabled, the router switches from Load Balancing mode to Failover mode.

Pros: Set and forget, pure power. Wide range of settings and vpn. There are about 50 devices in the network. Works in tandem with a weaker router in the country. Different cons: Antennas are weaker in signal than n66u
