Review on Enhance Your Cycling Performance with the Versatile Orange Seal Cycling VersaValve Stem Kit by Jonathan Clark

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The best just got better!

I've tried many tubeless valves and the Versavalves with the orange seal is by far the best I've used. It seems crazy to say that something as simple as a valve can be so much better than the competition, but it's true! This includes a small flap at the bottom of the valve to prevent the sealant from clogging the valve core. However, the valve itself is poorly designed. By simply tightening the valve nut by hand, I was able to actually pry the valve out through the hole on the inside of the rim. When I pushed the bar back the rubber bushing in the wheel (between the walls) fell off! This is not possible with VersaValves, which have a wide metal flange at the base that prevents them from ever getting through the valve opening. In addition, their rubber pads are thick and made of durable rubber. They also include two different shapes to match your rim design. Stan valves seem to be popular but I found them heavy, not very well made and most importantly the valve has a tight bore. This is important for two reasons: (1) it is difficult to force air into the tire with a hand pump, and (2) it is difficult to apply sealant to the tire. You really have to move very slowly or the sealant will spill back out of the valve. VersaValves have a nice wide bore that makes it easy to add or pump sealant. I won't compare but I like them even more than the ones that came with my $2500 Enve wheels! Other bonuses: - Comes with two extra valve cores. -- Supplied with two additional rubber rings for use under washers. -- Comes with a variety of valve nuts in different colors. Brilliant! (They used to be the same with just an orange set.) - Comes with two different shapes of rubber spacers so you can choose which one works best for your rim - Comes with a valve removal tool. We recommend.
