I've been doing this hobby for quite some time. I had to run a 10 tank hospital. I typically cycle through a new tank by taking the existing filter media from the installed tank and seeding the new tank. This is a tried and true method that works every time (I've run tanks in just a few days). Well I didn't want to mess with my canisters so I decided to give it a try. Well it doesn't work. GENERAL. Don't waste your money and there is no viable bacteria-in-the-bottle solution. This product doesn't work. For anyone starting an aquarium, it's best to go to your local fishmonger and ask for a used, dirty filter from an existing aquarium and toss it in the aquarium. That works every time. Bacteria in a bottle is a trick.
