They might work well for general laptop use, but they're a piece of junk for any other use. I bought ten packs to use as Linux boot disks for work. This means that the first thing that will happen to you will be to delete all partitions and reformat them. (It's not uncommon to use these things - just like you might want to use to boot Linux on your desktop, or as a recovery disk for a Mac, etc.). Every drive I tried crashed immediately. It has become read-only due to a hardware error that cannot be fixed. Surprisingly, this is a known issue with Sandisk USB drives. This is the first time I've come across this - and I've flashed hundreds of USB sticks from different vendors over the last 5 years. These are consumables: I don't buy the most expensive ones because I expect they will wear out after a few months and be thrown away. are for Windows use only and are not critical.
