Review on πŸš— Delphi CS0120 AC Compressor: Optimal Cooling Solutions for your Vehicle by Jim Dahl

An air gap setting of 0.6 mm is required!

This supercharger was a perfect match for our 1997 GMC Suburban K1500. I had to change the pressure switch from the old supercharger to the new supercharger, and most importantly I had to adjust the air gap for the clutch, which prompted a call to AutoZone for AC clutch tools required. Pressure switch, you need to remove the snap ring to loosen the old one, turn off the old compressor, then remove the plug from the new compressor, and then install the switch. The air gap came as a surprise. I hadn't intended to check this beforehand, so it wasn't until I loaded the system that it became apparent that the air gap was 0 (zero) mm. This meant that even with the A/C off (i.e. clutch off, compressor "off") the clutch would spin the compressor. Except that it slipped and made an awful noise. We parked the car and after researching it found it was an air gap - there was no gap on the new compressor. So we had to go to AutoZone to borrow their AC clutch tools, remove the clutch from the new compressor, and then gradually put it back in until a 0.6mm gap was noted. The air gap should have been factory adjusted and as there was none I had the right to return the compressor; However, time is money and we opted for a clutch adjustment instead. After these changes, the work became a textbook.
