Fits 1998 GMC Seirra SL V6

I bought this to replace an old supercharger that was "licking through my belly" on my '98 GMC Sierra V6. It had 4 ounces of oil and was exactly the same as the OEM it replaced. I've already swapped the distributor and canister. I replaced the bezel at the same time as the ACDelco 15-5378 and ACDelco 15-50812 pushbutton switches, which I also purchased here. I vacuumed the system then charged it and it worked with no issues. Just wanted to give a review that it would fit a 1998 GMC Sierra V6.

Works great and whispers quietly!

I read some reviews of this noisy compressor and was a little apprehensive but I am more than happy with it. I installed this compressor along with a new condenser, accumulator, and suction/discharge lines and followed all the instructions for lubricating the compressor prior to installation. I also put oil in the condenser and battery before assembling, evacuating and charging the system (8 oz oil and 32 oz 134a total for the whole system). This compressor works great and CRAZY! I love cold…

Workhorse Fit 05 W-Series

I replaced an OEM Delphi compressor on my W-Series 05 Workhorse chassis, it fits snugly. One thing; The instructions say to turn the pulley a couple of times before installing it - and use a special wrench if it won't turn. Well, that's almost impossible now with the orange cap. I drained the oil and started over anyway, to my surprise the compressor sucked up all 8 ounces of oil which made the installation easier. After installation, before replacing the crescent belt, and after installing the

Cold air, beautiful! Best in Parts

Re-aired my 1997 Chevy Tahoe 5.7. I bought this truck used in 2012 but the air didn't work. After several years of suffering, I decided to tackle the restoration of the air conditioning. Learned some basic cooling principles and watched a bunch of YouTube videos. I replaced the condenser, gas pipe, battery and compressor. Evacuated, then charged the system. voila! icy air. That was June 2017. I like to report automotive components over time, which is the best test of a part's reliability and…

It's worth buying this. Save $100 long-term. Don't buy refurbished ones.

I spent about $700 on a complete air conditioning rebuild in my suburb in 1998. I bought a reconditioned compressor at a very popular auction. After completing the entire system with countless hours, I flushed and filled the system. The pump sounded terrible for the first few minutes of operation. My freon was taken out and I got a replacement pump from the company. After a week of regular driving, the pump exploded, filling my entire system with aluminum slivers. I had to remove and replace…

An air gap setting of 0.6 mm is required!

This supercharger was a perfect match for our 1997 GMC Suburban K1500. I had to change the pressure switch from the old supercharger to the new supercharger, and most importantly I had to adjust the air gap for the clutch, which prompted a call to AutoZone for AC clutch tools required. Pressure switch, you need to remove the snap ring to loosen the old one, turn off the old compressor, then remove the plug from the new compressor, and then install the switch. The air gap came as a surprise. I…
