Large cells for good flow, blocking large particles at the bottom.

Ideal for AC110 or AC500. Large mesh for good flow, blocking large particles at the bottom of the filter. I like to add an increasingly thin pad layer right on top, but I don't think it's critical. I have one that is still working for over 6 months and I only give it a heavy wash every 1-2 weeks. Smell and color always indicate a healthy colony of nitrifying bacteria. So far no signs of degradation.
