I was looking for something to move some curtains in the cafe in the kitchen. All traditional tiebacks were too long - from 23 to 36 inches or more. I only needed about 12 inches. I was watching HGTV and someone was using leather straps to hang the shelves. Bingo! Searched quickly and TOFL belts came up. The perfect size was available and all I had to do was punch a few holes with an awl after cutting it to length. Cup hooks in the window frames rounded it off. Simply hook in in the morning and unhook in the evening. One minus: I received black instead of the navy blue I ordered. Except that I didn't order navy, I ordered black. I checked. Guilty.
