Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works great + environmentally friendly!

First of all. These are solar powered flashlights, so they have disadvantages that electric flashlights don't have. For example, if you have a cloudy day, chances are your lights won't work all night. Also, they don't produce as bright a light as electric models. However, they are rated five stars for solar powered lights. And to me, their downsides are far outweighed by their energy savings and environmental friendliness. But here are a few tips on how to deal with their shortcomings: (1) For extra brightness, wrap the lights very tightly instead of pulling the garland all the way. The string is quite long at 72 feet. I have a banister about 15 feet long that goes up the stairs to my front door which is 10 feet high. I wrapped the cords very tightly along the length of each of these railings, and I still had enough room to stretch the cord along the front door so that the two cords met at the top center. In my opinion the lights are bright enough when they are close together. (2) For longer lasting lighting, make sure the solar panels are in a place where they will be exposed to the sun the longest. You've got a decent wire from the beginning of the world, so extend the wire as far away from your house as possible. And when you're at home (e.g. weekends), move them around to get more light in the evening. Even on cloudy days, they never shut down before midnight. (3) Turn on flashing mode for longer lighting. This saves energy so the lamps last longer after a cloudy day. One last note, they have a sensor, so they ONLY glow in the dark. At first I was wrong thinking mine broke because I thought they should turn on immediately when I press the "ON" button. Simply pressing the "ON” button turns the sensor on. You can't get them to turn on until the light outside is dim enough.
