I love this toy. I have a Blue Headed Pionus Parrot, mostly a medium sized parrot, slightly larger than the average parakeet. Toys can be very hot or cold, hard to tell. I fastened this to the door of his cage, which is open all day; He's free to roam on and around the few rope bars we have around his cage, and he has a wide range of chew toys to choose from. He is a rescue parrot and I have tried all sorts of chew toys over the years. He really likes this one, he immediately started chewing it and then immediately started chewing deeper. I can tell this will take a while because the paper is thicker and very densely layered and the "hoop" is solid from the outside edge to the middle. I have a medium, 5.5 cm in diameter. When they say it is 9.5 inches long they include a loop of rope and loose fibers at the bottom so don't worry it will be too big, this is the perfect size for medium and even more small birds. If you have a large parrot I think its beak will break into pieces that size very quickly, but for a medium and smaller parrot this is excellent. I can't personally speak for the large sizes, but given the quality of the medium size, I believe the large sizes would be good for large bird beaks. Excellent value for money and quality.
