This is an extremely hard wax. To apply it you need to dig up a piece and use elbow grease. When I waxed my desk it looked dull. This is to be expected at this stage. The wax was left and soaked for over an hour. Then a new polishing cloth was used. Although the table looked like it had been lined and some of the white areas were gone, it wasn't shiny. I used Pledge to make it shiny. Pros: The table was lined. Dry white spots are gone. Any liquid will drip onto the table instead of damaging it. Cons: It takes work to get a good result. You have to dig up a piece to apply it. Rubbing the top of the wax in the jar won't work. To me the product works as advertised because it moisturizes and protects the wood.
