I bought a battery grip for all the 5ds I have. Everything worked great and this is no exception. Others noted the lighter design of the battery case itself. It seems less reliable than previous versions, but it works great and I haven't had any issues with it. If you are a regular buyer of Canon battery grips, this is definitely the right option for you. If this is your first grab then it's definitely worth the investment if you enjoy shooting portraits a lot and can take advantage of the extra battery life.
