Review on πŸ” SEO-Optimized Single-Ring Chainring Bolts by Origin8 by Meech Elliott

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good quality good for transmission components

Bought these for my 6ku track. The bike after changing the chainring to a Vuelta 39t and installing it on the inside of the crank. The original front sprocket was installed on the outside, but I switched the rear wheel to a foot brake, so to align the Kianline I installed it on the inside as recommended by my LBS. This resulted in the chainring bolts ending up in a groove on the back of the chainring, requiring shorter bolts to evenly tighten the bolts. I first ground the insides of the stock stock 6k bolts shorter to tighten them up, but for some reason the 6k bolts are slightly larger than my metric multi-tool. Maybe they are imperial? Anyway, I rounded one of the 6ku bolts so I had to order them, although my homemade grinder worked just fine. To be fair I could have reversed the Vuelta chain and the studs would have been further spaced but as I said I rounded one off so it couldn't be used. I also want to see the brand from the outside. After receiving the 8 original screws I noticed that they were of a higher quality and felt very hard and tight. Smooth mirror finish on chrome. Definitely higher quality than the 6ku and guess what, they match my multifunction hex key perfectly. Not sure why 6ku is so free but my LBS guy told me they skimp on small parts to save money instead of using parts with the right specs. sides of the sprocket bolts so they don't just keep turning in the slot when I tighten them. It took me 2 hours to figure out this trick. Previously I used all sorts of tools to try and stop the female side so I could fully tighten the male side. The steel wool worked great. I almost ordered a "special" sprocket bolt tool. No need. Simply attach the inside and apply lube to the male screw. At $6 they are worth it and definitely an upgrade. From what the bike mechanic told me and researched, there's no way you want your chainring to be dangling at all. It wears out your chain much faster and makes weird noises. Don't skimp here. Shipped just as quickly.
