Revainrating 5 out of 5

Truly stunning in every way

A few things you should know about me: I have very high quality standards and am very direct and critical. So the fact that I am giving this TV a 5/5 the day after I tried it means a lot. I usually wait a month or two, but I've seen enough! PRIVACY I was very hesitant to buy a TV instead of a projector because they all come with bloated apps, malware and sell your data to companies. In some of the worst examples of this, manufacturers monitor everything you see and the data that passes through your home network. Sony gets an A here because you can opt out during the setup process. Sony has always been very good about privacy issues and that's the only reason I bought this TV in the first place. Everyone else secretly forces you to agree to the persecution. USER INTERFACE - Performance. My second biggest problem when buying a TV was that I always saw these user interfaces fall behind. I hate delays, nobody likes delays, it makes you frustrated. The apps my friends used on their devices were slow, sometimes taking a few seconds just to display basic information. The processor in this TV is insane. Not only have I never seen any lag, but the TV remembers what you've been doing in apps recently, so you can easily switch between apps. Truly amazing, they achieve this with no lag, this TV is often more like a computer. USER INTERFACE - user experience I have been designing user interfaces for 10 years. I've seen a lot of terrible interfaces. However, it is. this is one of the best. Your dashboard is fully customizable with the apps you choose to use. The toolbar is great for showing content from any app you want to see without having to search for it. For example, a news app shows the latest breaking news. Or the Music app shows your recently played playlists. Wonderful. The interface is great, but what's even more amazing is that each app has its own well-designed interface. In fact, standalone apps for Netflix, Google Music, and others are even better than the companies that made those apps. I would choose Sony's app interfaces over others any day. So good. It's hard to believe that Sony created such a great user interface for their products and those of other companies, and yet they did it. ANDROID OSI has always been a fan of Android. Of course, this TV integrates with my entire ecosystem of Android and Google products. You get deep integration with Google Assistant, all Google products, and if you have an Android phone, you can easily connect it. And no hassle! I was very impressed with how easy everything I wanted to do was. iPhone users also get Air Play and other benefits. SOUND QUALITY If sound quality is important to you, you will always ditch the TV speakers and use your own equipment. This is true here too, but the default sound quality is above average. Very good low and high frequencies, conversations can be heard well in loud moments. PICTURE QUALITY As mentioned in another review, the TV tends to be darker. I've had no problem changing this, and the settings to do it quickly from one moment to the next are extremely simple. Otherwise this was my first 4k TV so can't make a good comparison but I have to say the opening sequence was a bit off for me :) APP STORE It's just a notification that you can (and should!) install it more applications for your TV. If you want to add apps to the Play Store that Sony doesn't offer, you can "download" them. I love that advanced users have this option! The app store, which Sony grants access to by default, is also very good, with plenty of apps for all use cases, even for users who might want to do crazy things like SSH on their device or run a file server. GENERAL Everything I'm sick of is implemented in this device and everything else is in abundance. I would very much like to buy this device again. Keep it up Sony, you really are a wonderful manufacturer.
