Love love love this bike! I have a 7 year old son (8 in a few months) with autism who had trouble riding his bike without training wheels. He didn't like studying, and Mom and Dad got a little upset. He seemed to understand how to keep his balance, but wasn't sure he could. He was afraid that we would let go of the bike and didn't understand the need to keep pedaling to accelerate. Every time we let go of the bike, it would just throw itself, jump off the bike, or push its foot to stop. So I bought a Bixe bike. He loves to! He keeps asking to ride his bike and we don't have to hold him down or keep an eye on him. We've had it for about a week now. I am very happy to see his confidence growing and to see his joy in riding. Attached is a video of our driveway with a slight incline. He drags his feet to slow down so he doesn't run into the street. Anyway, we went camping this weekend and it slid down a huge steep hill without slowing down. There is a nice little pole/ledge for him to put his feet on. Again and again he climbed the big hill. (at the bottom of the hill it was safe). So I definitely love this bike. I think now that he has the confidence to keep his balance he will be better able to transition to a pedal bike. I highly recommend this bike. I only wish we had gotten him sooner!
