Stays in place and is very easy to switch on and off
I used to have an old model from the 50's and it scratched my headboard because it was moving every time it was switched on and off . It has plastic guards to prevent this and is very easy to turn on and off without having to tug on it. I liked it so much that I immediately bought a second one for my new bed.
