You can't use this for Android Auto or Apple Carplay

I use Android and my wife uses iPhone. The new car we bought only has 1 USB to connect to Android Auto or Apple Carplay. I thought instead of 2 different cables I would have 1 USB-A connected to both Android with USB-C and iPhone Lightning port, but the cable doesn't work for the sake of work. The devices were not recognized.
