The 120V plugs provided are required for connection to the building wiring in the junction box in accordance with electrical regulations. I used lamps powered by a 12V DC transformer. A junction box is not required for low-voltage connections. So I just unplugged the 120V to 12V driver (small plastic box). They work great and are fully dimmable with my 12v dimmer. Two cons: These spotlights get hot! I tested them at 135 degrees Fahrenheit at full power. (too hot to touch) I would not use them in confined spaces or in contact with insulation. My research shows that anything below 195 degrees Fahrenheit can come into contact with drywall. Second, I ordered a second set of 4 warm white bulbs and the color is significantly different from the first 4 warm white bulbs I ordered.
