To my surprise, they work exactly as the positive reviews suggest. I am very skeptical that a product that I consider overpriced has so many rave reviews; this makes me particularly suspicious. However, I have 24" extensions and wanted something that would not damage them and also be able to handle thicknesses without breaking. I'm glad I took the risk! - They are durable, they don't tear. - You stretch without stretching at the most inopportune moment. For me, traditional 2-turn hair ties are a bit loose, but they are too tight and max 3 with my amount of hair, so they are difficult to remove and can damage my hair or break the band. Tensile and holding power without damage. My messy bun takes 2 or 3 turns. I don't have to struggle to pull it back out or cut it off because it's too tight. This surprised me as I thought they would lose their elasticity and stretch over time. They are comfortable on the wrist. I was afraid of losing them because my hair ties always fly somewhere in an unknown direction; but because of the comfort on the wrist (doesn't cut off blood flow and doesn't look bad) i always carry it with me. - Too big for a cat to eat. Sometimes I worry about my cats swallowing hair ties (maybe they all go there) but they are way too big for the average cat. I thought they were too expensive but I used the first one. for a long time and didn't even have to use the others. I've bought old standard skinny bangles in case they don't work and now I use them for other purposes and keep friends and coworkers on hand who need them. don't come back
