I should have known when looking to buy a second (maybe a third, I don't remember) that this was not an isolated defect. The clip that holds the bag to my belt came loose after my first surf trip - on both bags. Ok, I used a carabiner instead of a button. This is also the second bag to literally burst at the seams, leaving a quarter-sized hole that allowed air to escape. I discovered this latest hole on a hectic day when I really needed to rest, but the buoy was nothing more than a piece of pink plastic strapped to my waist. I have asked for a refund and am now looking for a new brand of bag.
