I thought it would make a great gift for my 6 year old but had no idea an adult would have to open it up and cook 24 hours before a child does it. play with it Since this gift is clearly intended for children and most children don't like waiting 24 hours before they can play with something, I think the manufacturer should communicate this beforehand. (Basically, you need to boil the water and then use the provided spoon to add the exact amount of chemical thickener and leave it for a day before using). In addition, boiling water melts the supplied spoon when stirring and you have a useless box of materials after the first use. The only reason I didn't give that one star is because my son loved playing with the paint in regular water for about 20 minutes (since we have to wait 24 hours for boiled water to cool down). The colors weren't vibrant when using colored water and the tray was tiny. I am planning to buy a tray, paints etc from a hobby shop which I think should have been done first.
