These are very loose fitting. I mean they are comfortable, but very loose. I did not really feel comfortable wearing them around other people because they are so loose. If I were to sit curled up on the couch I'm pretty sure my underwear was visible for all to see. Same with the top. Any movement or posture that wasn't perfect would display the girls.I do like that the shorts have pockets. The pattern on the top was attractive. The back of the top is a racerback style. Very comfy but almost too flowy and loose, as I've said. I don't believe a smaller size is needed because the pjs do fit.
