I bought this to get data off an old hard drive and then use it as an external hard drive. It looks great and the fact that you can SEE a physical hard drive inside the case is a godsend. I didn't realize how badly I wanted this feature until I got it! First, if I want specs or information about a drive, I don't have to open the case to see the model number, revision, etc. etc. Also, I can use several of the same enclosures for different hard drives and easily tell them apart at a glance! That being said, if you want to use multiple of these cases with identical hard drives, you're on your own lol! That being said, my SSD fit very tightly. So if you plan on switching drives all the time, this might not be for you. When you insert the drive it bends the connectors on the case a bit, and when you pull it out they bend even more, but nothing broke and a regular WD Blue hard drive fit perfectly tight. It also seems that the USB-C version performs better than the micro-USB version. Haven't compared it though so take that with a grain of salt.
