Overall I'm happy with the size; It's really more of a pendant than a pendant and it does have some weight - I weighed it on a scale and it came out 5g - the weight puts my mind at ease. I was concerned that this is a fragile piece of jewelry but it appears to be quite durable. However, the cavity inside is quite tiny. The body is solid, so be prepared for any debris you choose to seal inside just filling the head. I didn't want to risk messing around with my cat's ashes at the end, but I saw another reviewer share that they put some fur in it instead, so I borrowed the idea. I think it just takes bad pictures in that color? If anything, it's a bit long, although I shouldn't be surprised because it's 20 inches long as advertised. I miss my cat but it is a comforting keepsake and I wear it every day.
