General Purpose Material

WARNING. I'm a paper freak. I like being able to get different types of paper for different purposes, and that's what it says: newsprint. Just like blank newsprint :-) If you're looking for a specific type of paper for a specific purpose, like I've been doing for the past few weeks, read on. Until I found affordable 52gsm paper, I wanted something very thin. Taking notes so I can slip into my Bible and other books without being overweight. It's perfect for that. It is convenient for children to draw with crayons, a pen and a pencil (not too sharp). The plain old standard ink pen works well with it. The paper is very soft and smooth. Don't get them wet. I can wet it slightly (just slightly) and it's ok. The water turns it back into mush. I was able to punch holes for my notebook and it did a great job. It was ok to cut as long as I cut it into small pieces to keep the paper straight. I've even tried sewing it on and it pulls the thread just fine - if you want to make notebooks for kids or notes etc. This is a great paper for someone who likes to write on soft paper, take lots of notes, doodle (but not wet ink/markers!), or who have kids who love to draw and paint. You can see in a few photos that a normal highlighter sticks well to the paper and doesn't show through on the other side unless you hold it up to the light. The best part is that it's really easy to recycle or dispose of. without taking up much space. Haven't tried running it through my printer yet, but that's next. I would love to be able to print out my own sketches. I'm sure you know a lot more about this paper than you wanted, but I can't be the only one who loves the details! LAUGH OUT LOUD

Pros
  • General Educational Use

Great for printing quilting patterns for paper piecing.
