I must have been afraid to open corks when I was little because I suspect corkscrews turn into some kind of alien creature and of course something on the level can do science. 1950s Science Fiction Film - Attack of the Killer Corkscrews! Surely a double feature in "Drive-in" with "Attack of the Shrew Killers"?. lol. I bought this one and kept ignoring it, knowing it was the new 'fancy' one that would somehow reboot and improve the mini terminator. Finally use it and WOW! No popping corks, no effort to get the cork out. The sides wrap around the bottle and you tighten the screw. If you do, the cork is out!
