The golf shoes I used (Calloways) were lightweight mesh and perfect for dry and hot weather. I don't play golf in the rain, I thought. Why do I need heavy waterproof leather shoes! Well, I've found that even heavy dew, overnight rain, or watering the field causes my socks to get wet after just a few holes. My calloways WERE white and now they are dirty taupe. I tried a pair of Eccos when I bought Calloways but the size 35 was too big for my 5 meter foot size. I found this Ecco shoe in size 34 and in black. I love the way they look - no traditional oxfords or trainers. The fit was great! Curiously, they were laced in such a way that they could neither be tightened nor loosened. At first I thought they didn't fit and wanted to send them back. I took the laces off and put them back on the 'normal' way and it made a world of difference! I'm not sure why they were laced like that. After playing on a very wet field last week, my socks were completely dry. I will say that in hot and absolutely dry weather these shoes will be hot. So I will use different shoes on those days. Apart from that I love them!
