The light itself is nice and bright and the variable color temperature is handy, but there are a few downsides and downsides.* If the battery is completely drained, the light won't work at all , even when it's plugged in, so you need to keep the battery charged even if you plan on plugging it in. * The stand is flexible and keeps barely any light at the top of the monitor. I'm afraid of touching the light to adjust the brightness/color temperature while it's on the monitor as the stand doesn't have enough gripping power to stay on the monitor, it just sits more than it holds. The "clip" itself feels nice with a nice soft plastic finish, but I'd rather spend less money on the feel of the stand and more on the hinge so it stays in place better. * When the battery runs out, it starts doing strange things. It gets darker and sometimes changes color temperature to its maximum warm setting even when the actual dial has cooled completely. Replacing the included stand with one of my own and leaving it attached to a wall wart or battery pack solved the problem. most of my problems, so with those two changes it's a pretty good light.
