I got the laptop as a working machine - the employer offered to upgrade the laptop I was working on. Before that, I worked on my own, it was a Dell XPS 13 9360, before Dell was a Macbook Pro 13 "late 2022. I used these two for almost five years. I must say right away that the differences for me from mb pro 13 2022 are small. mb pro 16 is larger, more powerful, heavier, and, in general, everything. Therefore, it is the XPS 13 that appears in the advantages and disadvantages. Of course, it is difficult to compare them directly - they are in different weight categories, so I talked about the obvious. In general, speaking for a piece of iron, everything suits me. Good battery, well assembled, everything is fine, in general. Its money is more likely than not (although, of course, the price is cosmic, especially for the extra space on the SSD). The software decides a lot. In my case, the docker was somehow delivered, ssh works - that's okay, it's good for work. Projects on the pluses collects perky. There is almost any corporate software that is found in the wild - from java-based kvm to palo alto vpn, it is convenient and allows you to work without any problems, and not configure software much of the time, as is the case in linux, for example. The same applies to the UI - everything is smooth, polished and uniform. This is also a minus - there are a lot of settings, but their number is still limited, what is possible in linux cannot be done here. This is not a plus or a minus, it's just an observation. Compared to win 10, there is some feature parity for me - there is an order of magnitude more software in windows and, as a result, more customization. For this there is a retribution in the form of a legacy sticking out of all holes (which seems to be about to be sawed off, but how it will turn out is still unknown). All in all, a decent laptop. If there is no aversion to macos or if there are already other pieces of iron from Apple, I recommend buying it. If you don’t want to have a vendor lock or just something is missing in macos (read: you need some kind of red-eye or Windows), then it’s better to look towards Dell / Thinkpad.
