Review on 📷 Enhanced Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM Fixed Lens for Canon SLR Cameras by Luis Tuazon

I bought this lens hoping to get a two in one lens for wedding photography. I was hoping for good macro and a decent teleportrait. I found it more than I was hoping for and something completely different. This is a great portrait lens and a very decent macro lens. Pros: - long focal length (160mm equivalent on a cropped body) - large aperture - nice bokeh - excellent build quality - fast, quiet, very accurate focusing - amazing IQ - no distortion As far as I can tell - little or no chromatic aberration - everywhere very sharp - oh, and it has major macro downsides too: - no, seriously, that's about the only downside I can really attribute. If you're considering buying this lens, be aware that it doesn't have IS, which can limit handheld use to brighter situations, slower shutter speeds, or high ISOs. Also note that wide open macro features have an extremely shallow depth of field. I find that apertures up to about f/8 make this lens much easier to use and produce beautiful, perfectly sharp shots. macro, then this is the lens for you. I've used this lens for some great macro shots, even handheld. But most of all I love portraits. I've filmed several live shows close to the stage (some wide open) with this lens and this lens exceeded my expectations. 98% of the shots were focused on money (I don't want to risk talking about all of them). Sharpness was amazing even wide open. Color reproduction was vibrant and gorgeous. I love this lens and will not talk about it now because I will probably shed tears of joy. I want to say right away that this is definitely my new favorite lens and I can easily see that it is. for a very long time.
