Sturdy and highly efficient toilet drill

The Ridgid 59802 6-Foot Toilet Drill is a professional plumbing tool that homeowners can use with a little care. After the toilet didn't flush completely, I suspected a partial clog. I'm not a plumber and after trying to use the plunger without modification I decided to buy this toilet auger to see if I could fix the problem myself without calling a professional. I honestly wasn't sure I needed this as the toilet was partially flushed and would be refilled with clean water. I will leap to victory. After everything was installed, it took about two minutes to clear the clog, which appeared to be mostly toilet paper. So kudos to the product, it definitely serves its purpose. However, I gave it four stars rather than five, mainly because the recommendations are poor. I read them a few times before starting and they were oddly fragmented and organized with a discussion of using a cordless drill as an accessory right in the middle of the relevant information. Also, the charts are very small and very fuzzy. The instructions mention a button to extend the cord from three to six feet, it is not labeled on the device and not shown in the drawing; it simply indicates the area in which it is located. I'm so glad I took the time to familiarize myself with this before I started. The knob only opens when you pull the base of the hand crank out of the sleeve that holds it; then it is free on the side. Warning: This thing is very unwieldy when pulled out a full seven feet! Try this for a three-foot length before deciding if you need to go any further (I didn't). A few tips that are useful afterwards are listed in order. First read and understand the instructions. Clean everything in the bathroom with a plastic trash bag. You need disposable gloves for all of this. Have paper towels ready. It is very important that the entire cord is pulled in so that only the tip is showing (this model has a folding head which is good for pulling) and then carefully inserted into the toilet so that the orange vinyl sleeve is inserted into the toilet bowl. If you let the metal cord come into contact with the toilet, it may get scratched. I was very careful and had no problems with scratches. Follow the instructions to gradually insert and twist the cable: you may encounter resistance. I found it easiest to clean the toilet, which took about a minute or two. When you think you're done, fully retract the cable into the auger before pulling it out. Flush the toilet several times to make sure the water is really clean. Then the nightmare begins. You need to move this thing from the closet to a place where you can clean it, and if you haven't thought it through, the ensuing mess won't be pleasant. I've never done this before, I thought about it before starting and my method worked well. I removed the auger with one hand and held the garbage bag with the other. I put the soiled end of the snail in a garbage bag and took it outside, where I cleaned it with a strong hose nozzle and disinfectant. Then I let it dry overnight. Ridgid 59802 is a very efficient tool that works great. I have no problem with the recommendation. Just fiddle with it and read the instructions while it's clean and dry, because once the blockage is cleared, the hardest part of the job is yours. If you have a plan, you will be successful.
