As well as following the instructions it is recommended to fit it before drilling holes and lowering the hood to ensure it is clean. The instructions are good and simple. The installation didn't take long at all. It works great, I would buy it sooner. I'm not very tall and had a hard time pulling up the hood and using the support bar before putting it on. Then I made it harder for myself by installing a 3 inch lift on my Tacoma. All my problems are gone, now that I put them on I can get on and off easier and I don't have to use that support bar anymore.
