I bought smoked ones, they don't change color. There are no wires, you simply plug in a T10 bulb and replace your existing yellow side marker. Aesthetics: * I didn't like the rise at first, but it fits the stock headlights, which also have a rise. * Included white LEDs are illegal in my state. *The set looks much better in the smoky state, I wasn't sure at first if the light source would look good behind something smoky, the amber halogen gives it a subdued look that looks really good. Quality :* It has a DOT mark and at least the driver's side fitted perfectly. A combined press (perhaps at an oblique angle) resulted in an audible click and it was snug with no play, which is very pleasing. * The passenger side was a different story. Looks the same as the driver's side, but the chuck doesn't turn to engage AT ALL. I tried twisting it so hard I thought I would break the socket. It looks like the passenger side was made with incorrect tolerances on the closing edges (they are too thick). I ordered a replacement but it took too long so I decided to return the whole set and get a different brand.* The dimensions are not the same as the original. It's thicker in the back and doesn't have the hollow wind or water channel along the edge of the wheel well that the OE has. I think there's a reason Honda made it thinner and added hollow channels to the original, the absence of which could be detrimental in the long run. I'm just guessing, but maybe the thinner backing of the originals keeps the water ice from expanding and squeezing out from behind the side marker? Or maybe if its back is in direct contact with the mount (as in this case) then water will collect between the mount and the back (due to surface tension) and cause rust? Any time water is squeezed between two surfaces it takes much longer to evaporate than water in the open air. Also the lack of a wind or water channel is questionable, it appears to be channeling water from the fender top to the wheel arch to drain it, this channel was built into the OE markers on purpose, Honda would have found it easier to do without. so there must be a reason. *Other kits come with tape on the socket to keep dust and dirt out before inserting the bulb, these didn't. No big deal, they're just side markers and they're small, you can clean them with compressed air or water unlike a large headlight assembly. Installation Tips: 1. Make sure you press until you hear a click or feel it hit the target. To be sure, grab it by the side facing the wheel and pull it slightly towards the outside of the car, if it's not properly seated it will fall out with little effort. 2. On the passenger side I just unscrewed a screw (the one under the side mark) that allowed me to slide the liner back far enough (maybe 1 inch) to insert a long flat head screwdriver, press on the tab and SLIGHTLY on the page to pull marker off. from the side of the wheel arch. If you don't want to damage anything, wrap the tip of the screwdriver with tape.3. On the driver's side, you can access the clip from the engine bay if you don't have aftermarket side covers.
