Review on BLACK DECKER BC15BD Battery Alternator by Brian Delgado

Immediately paid 3x for myself

I lent my canoe, Minn Kota 55 motor, Minn Kota battery pack, 100 Amh almost new battery and charger to a friend for the weekend. I returned a completely dead battery and a broken charger. Boat and engine were fine, but the battery would not charge. I also have an old spare battery. I was willing to trade in both batteries for $15 each. Since I needed to buy a new charger, I started researching. I read about the recovery function of this charger. It sounded corny to me. I took a risk I connected the charger and pressed the restore button. After 24 hours I checked the battery to see if it charges. It happened! However, I decided to do two more recovery cycles. On the last one I let it go into auto load mode. After a day and a half it was fully charged! I couldn't believe it. Then I put the charger on the spare battery and just let it go through a recovery cycle and go straight to charging. Same result with spare battery. I haven't tested any of the batteries on the boat, but the Minn Kota's battery compartment indicator shows that the 'new' battery is fully charged. If this charger breaks tomorrow I'll still give 5 stars. It is currently connected to a 'new' battery and is in float mode. My advice: if you have old deep cycle batteries laying around I would connect them to this charger before throwing them away. Maybe there are cheaper chargers. All I know is that this one will definitely restore the ship's battery.
