Falls apart in my review

I find it difficult to trust this product to function properly. The knob that allows you to connect of disconnect the battery also controls the only thing that keeps the product from falling apart into two separate pieces. If there's any force at all on the battery cable, it could cause it to reconnect the battery on its own, even if you switched it off. If you unscrew it a lot to avoid this, it's likely to separate into two pieces, one left on the battery the on the on the battery cable. I…

Pros
  • Bought for my jet ski. It fit alright.
Cons
  • Bolt pattern do not match the terminal connectors - had to clean the female end

Great problem solver

Had to modify slightly to use it on my riding mower but it does exactly what I needed it to do. Now my battery is fully charged when it is time to mow and I don’t need to use a float charger especially since I do not have power in my shed.

Pros
  • It works as advertised
Cons
  • This is absolute garbage, it didn't work at all. I will never recommend this to anyone.

Five Stars - my new review

Had bought a universal battery disconnect elsewhere that didn't work. So ordered this one and worked perfectly. Thanks for attention.

Pros
  • Inexpensive and just works.
Cons
  • The switch may not work properly in extreme temperatures

Bolt too short! - my new review

The poster who gave it 3 stars even though the attachment bolt is too short is more generous than me. I had to buy another bolt. What would it have taken the vendor to provide a bolt 1/2" longer? Surely the cost would have been less than the cost of gas plus the bolt I had to buy!UpdateWhen I installed it with the appropriate length bolt it immediately fell apart. WORTHLESS PIECE OF JUNK!

Pros
  • Works exactly as it advertises.
Cons
  • The switch may be prone to malfunctioning, leaving the user stranded

works great on my 96 jeep

bought two of these.works great on my 96 jeep, can't use on my 97 dodge van the way the batter sits and that it causes issues getting these to fit correctly.

Pros
  • does exactly what i needed it to
Cons
  • The switch may be cumbersome to use for those with limited mobility

Easy to attach in my review

Easy to attach, easy to disconnect battery. No tools to disconnect battery, nothing to take apart, just unscrew large knob.

Pros
  • As described good quality
Cons
  • Product doesn't work as advertised

Fell short is short too short the car shorts

Awesome idea awesome product except the bolt they sent only makes it to the bottom of the threaded hole , in short the bolt is too short for this to be a functional product

Pros
  • Using on my RV to shut off the house batteries.
Cons
  • No

Cut your RV battery power to protect the battery.

A handy device to use on my RV batteries to keep them from draining during periods of non-use. There is always something using power in the RV. Over the winter or during periods of non use parasitic drainage will deplete battery's voltage. This cut-off switch mounts easily on the battery's negative terminal. Unscrewing the green knob a couple turns cuts power. I did find that occasionally when replacing the battery box cover that I must have pressed down on the cover and reengaged the switch…

Pros
  • Great
Cons
  • vibrates loose when electricially disconnected

Beware: Bolt is too short!

Like so many other reviews say, the bolt was too short by about 1/4". I wish I would've read them before I bought it. I stopped by the auto parts store and bought a bolt that I had to cut down to the right length to get it to work. One improvement I made is adding zip ties to each side of the knob so it stays rigid when the knob is loose. See pics.

Pros
  • Works as described
Cons
  • The switch may be outdated and not keep up with emerging power management technology

What I received was unreliable.

It hooked up very easy but once in a while I would get a no start condition and would have to tap on it with the butt of a screw driver and then tighten it some more. Okay with me but, I couldn't have this happening to my daughter or wife.

Pros
  • Works as it should.
Cons
  • Too small for a standard auto battery terminal. Tossed it into my "junk" box.

Works after replacing short bolt.

Seems to work OK, except as others have stated, the bolt that came with it was too short and had to be replaced. Can't understand why they do not correct this obvious short coming.

Pros
  • did his job
Cons
  • Strips out easy if not careful but works great

Battery drain solved.

Just what I needed. A side mount battery shut off that fits a RV battery threaded post. I used 4 in my RV to keep the batteries from draining when not in use, or not plugged in. Easy to use and mount. Just back off the knob a few threads, and no longer connected. Heavy enough in carry the voltage and amps! Low profile.Connect to negative posts.

Pros
  • as discribed
Cons
  • The product may not be suitable for use in harsh marine environments

Perfect For The RV- No More Battery Drain

Inexpensive, but works beautifully. Super easy to install on the battery terminal So we can disconnect the power from the battery when our camper is in storage. This prevents battery drain from items like the clock, radio, CO2 detector, etc from draining the battery when not in use. Easy to reconnect the battery by just turning the knob.

Pros
  • good
Cons
  • The switch may be difficult to access in some vehicles or boats

Reliable and easy to use

Great product. Easy to install, and even easier to use. The screw action contact switch seems far better in the long run than guillotine lever switches which I also considered. It solved my leaky switch bypassed electrical harness on a Toyota Sequoia, and provides security as well when the vehicle is parked outside of the garage.

Pros
  • Love how easy this is to use!
Cons
  • Pretty low quality. Get what ya pay for on this one.

No channel to brace the metal when unscrewed - which means the metal pieces can "drop" - which means they touch - which means it connects. Got it to work for my use - but it'll definitely not keep the battery disconnected if there is any movement or vibration.

Pros
  • Still working
Cons
  • The product may not be compatible with certain types of batteries

Well built, but not quite a quick disconnect

This is a decently well built device, but the concept is "turn the dial to disconnect the battery" which is partly true. What you get instead is turn the dial to unscrew the bolt holding the two pieces together, thus disconnecting the battery, but resulting in.yeah, three pieces now! What was needed is a turn the dial to disconnect, but keep it as ONE PIECE. I can do this easily with a plug and keep it at two, so why invest in this?

Pros
  • Awesome!
Cons
  • The product may not be compatible with all types of power management systems

Finally one of these that works! Get this one!

Finally one of these that works! This one os different than the others where the cable and battery terminals are parallel but offset. I've had three different ones, and not only are the male and female connections usually the wrong size, the knob always gets loose. This one fits perfectly, the cable connection can be rotated to any angle, and the knob stays tight. This is the one to get.

Pros
  • otimo producto
Cons
  • The product is not recommended for use on high performance vehicles or boats

Quick disconnect good for me

Now I do not have to worry about my battery discharging when i store it in the storage Park, Just unscrew the green connection and you are disconnected.

Pros
  • Product as described and its good quality.
Cons
  • The switch may wear down over time and become less effective

The fix is easy! Just tie wrap the two piece switch on .

Update: Used the switch on my lawn tractor battery. Made a bracket to accommodate the different battery terminal. So the switch hangs off the terminal. Since the voltage disconnect at the switch is the metal flange on the screw knob, and the switch hangs, the screw knob has to completely be removed. The fix is easy! Just tie wrap the two piece switch on each side of the screw knob to keep the switch together. Now just turning the screw knob couple turns disconnects voltage.

Pros
  • Good Purchase
Cons
  • Very cheap broke upon installation
