Be careful - battery chargers

The charger went into FLO mode every time, which is a trickle charge. Tried it with several batteries that were not charged. Left a battery on FLO overnight and it wouldn't charge. The other charger I have runs on the same batteries so they are fine. I saw several other reviews mentioning the same issues. It looks like there are a few bad options, so risk placing an order. I would not recommend it.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Hard to say

Stay away this thing sucks

I have one and it says FLO all the time. I returned it and got another one, it seemed to work for a while then the fan inside started running loudly every time I used it. I didn't really use it that much, and then one day I connected it to the battery as usual and the thought was for naught. I work with electronics and I could tell there was a smell of a burnt capacitor or something inside. I throw away this headache and would not recommend this product to anyone!

Good Trip. - Chargers

Bought two - for me and my dad. He didn't use his for the first 6 months (couldn't let go of his old one) and I rarely used mine because it rarely worked. I plugged it in and hit charge and about 75% of the time this stupid thing indicated my dead battery was 100% charged and had gone into maintenance mode. Dad said the same thing and ended up throwing his away. So today I finally plugged it into "Ol' Blue" and the POS gave up its miserable existence and committed suicide. Good Trip.

Don't waste your $$$!

Clearly, Black and Decker has lost all interest in quality and customer satisfaction. Instead, all efforts are focused on creating an impressive facade. My device has worked long enough (no more than 3 uses) for the 30 day warranty to expire. Now it burns, but has no exit. Revain skillfully avoids any chat options, customer complaints, or other interactions when a product is out of warranty. What a waste of $60 plus a flop when I really needed it! I wish I could give B&D plus Revain 0 stars for

Not suitable for AGM batteries

I have tried this charger on two different Optima AGM coil batteries. Both times the charger tried to weld them together. I've never seen an Optima battery get that hot. With the first battery I noticed the charger spin up as it neared 80% when it should have reduced the current and I was able to catch it before it melted. I wasn't so lucky with the second one, in fact it was a whistle from the release of gases. This charger also doesn't have a manual charging function, which is ridiculous. The

Wasted Money 💰😡 in Jump Starters, Chargers & Portable Power Supplies

Too complicated to work. Keep a full battery. But the battery is ALLOWED. Battery recovery function is good, generator test is good. But give me a CHARGER just to charge the battery! UPDATE: I tried again today. BATTERY DISCHARGE, connected, connected. I can't even SEE the battery. I HATE THIS STUPID THING! WISH I CAN GET MY LOST MONEY BACK! Fall 2019. Last try. Battery in my camper dead. Same stupid problem. "FLO"; I smashed the machine to dust. Plugged in a 1966 Sears charger and charged the…

ok first useful for chargers

nice options, worked well initially. However, it has now ruined 2 batteries on mine. One was a small lawnmower battery which I assumed was an accident. The second was my marine grade AGM Optima battery which worked well. I wanted to fill up the AGM before the next use and float it for maintenance. When I plugged the device in, it showed the battery was about 70-75% charged and charging about 5 amps. I left it overnight thinking it would go into float mode. Well, when I checked it in the morning

Immediately paid 3x for myself

I lent my canoe, Minn Kota 55 motor, Minn Kota battery pack, 100 Amh almost new battery and charger to a friend for the weekend. I returned a completely dead battery and a broken charger. Boat and engine were fine, but the battery would not charge. I also have an old spare battery. I was willing to trade in both batteries for $15 each. Since I needed to buy a new charger, I started researching. I read about the recovery function of this charger. It sounded corny to me. I took a risk I connected

Poor quality control - check before warranty expires.

I purchased this item from Amazon on March 12, 2017. I first used it on a 2001 Volvo that has been sitting in our driveway for months. The battery is fairly new but after not using it for a few months it was pretty dead and wouldn't start. No problem I thought so I bought this charger/starter for $72. It seemed to charge fine at first, but I was in a hurry, so I hit the "Engine Start" button to use the 75 amp (90 second) quick engine start feature. Suddenly the car went off completely - I…
