nice options, worked well initially. However, it has now ruined 2 batteries on mine. One was a small lawnmower battery which I assumed was an accident. The second was my marine grade AGM Optima battery which worked well. I wanted to fill up the AGM before the next use and float it for maintenance. When I plugged the device in, it showed the battery was about 70-75% charged and charging about 5 amps. I left it overnight thinking it would go into float mode. Well, when I checked it in the morning before work, I smelled a strong smell of sulfur when I opened the door. The charger said it was charging at 15.6 amps and the top of the battery was moving and hot! I immediately unplugged the charger and took the dough outside. UPDATE: I have contacted the parent company Baccus Global and the issue has been escalated to the Senior Product Manager. I was told they would test and/or replace the unit. They asked me to send in the unit along with documentation (photos, replacement cost, etc.) of the destroyed AGM battery. After hearing nothing for a month, I replied to the manager who said I should hear from their legal department regarding the findings. Just when I got home, a package was already waiting for me. It was an old charger and a letter from her legal department. They stated that they have tested the device and it is "working within parameters" and that they will not do anything about a bad battery. So this will be the last Black and Decker product I will buy.
