Review on WFCO WF9855 WF 9855 Mount Converter by Marlo Schlachter

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Don't be fooled by the 12V output - it's all about the amps!

It was difficult to diagnose the problem at first. The original unit showed a 12V DC output when disconnected from the panel. So I couldn't figure out why my bus batteries were dead after 4 days of full power. I searched for parasitic drains throughout the car to no avail. After some research on the internet I decided to replace this component and the problem was solved. Apparently the old device was still producing 12V DC, but at very low currents - I don't know how low, but not enough! I considered increasing the current from 55 amps to 65-75 amps to minimize the need for generator hours to charge the batteries while docking. Since there is so much space (as you can see in the photo) I decided to stick with 55 amps and replace all the interior lighting with LEDs (22 total) to reduce the 12v load instead. This new unit was a direct replacement under the bed in my Fleetwood 31N Tioga Ranger. 120V AC power plug, 2 x 12V DC power connector spade lugs and ground wire. Easy installation and it works great. Hope the new one lasts as long as the original. Now I'm a happy tourist.
