It does its job but there are design flaws everywhere. 1) The manual is printed in such small size that you need a magnifying glass or very good eyesight to read it. It's not entirely clear either. The pictures are useless 2) You packed the manual and assembly instructions in the sliding gate. Except that if you don't know how to use this gate you can't get easy instructions. Oh, and you don't know how it works until you read the instructions. This is the vicious circle of bad design. Pulling out the gateway doesn't help much either as the packet gets stuck there. WOW. I can't say more about it 3) The gate has small holes in both parts of the sliding door. This is a danger for little fingers! It should have a thin plastic mesh covering the holes, or some other material that will prevent pinching and pinching of pinky fingers. The locking mechanism must work properly. There must be a way to lock the sliding gate in the correct position before locking, or some mechanism that will always extend the gate the same amount after installation. The bottom line is that they have to be handled very carefully and they are probably the best for pets. and not so much for small children. To be honest the only reason I didn't return it is because all the other options are made in China or elsewhere. This is made in the USA.
