Stand consists of five parts. The main body consists of three parts: the base, the middle column and the top column with a tray holder. The kit also includes a tray (with foam insert) and a handle for gripping the phone. The main parts of the body easily connect together, but have no latches at the ends. If you want to adjust the tripod to its maximum height, you can pull it completely out of your body. This is a minor issue, but it can still cause frustration. The tray mount on my product was slightly bent which caused the tray to either tilt up or down or to one side depending on the orientation I am mounting the tray in. Since the mount has a hinge, I can work around this by mounting it in a specific orientation and tilting it to align. All moving parts are "jammed" by friction. No locks with holes and ball bearings. This is normal but can sometimes cause instability issues. In terms of portability, the main parts of the body fit into each other when fully assembled, so you can easily reduce it to a minimum height, and the main body is compact. The tray attaches with these thumbscrews, which are easy to screw in and out and bulky enough to be difficult to lose. The tripod comes with a travel case, but it is too short to store the fully assembled tripod and not wide enough to store the tray. Overall, it's enough for my use case. If you're looking for a cheap projector item that folds up and stores away, this works well enough. If you are carrying this item with you, you may want to find a different carrying case than the one provided.
