Review on Milwaukee Electric 49 22 1129 Sawzall Reciprocating by Jason Khadka

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Thick and very strong

I have a Dewalt 20v saw and use it for home repairs. I'm not a pro so I don't buy a lot of blades and have only tried a few general purpose blades and Dewalt blades. I have cut thick CPVC, steel pipe and steel fence posts with ease using Dewalt and Milwaukee bi-metal blades. Unless you buy Dewalt's thick professional blades (the black ones are twice the price), you won't find a blade that offers the durability and reliability of this Milwaukee set. The price is reasonable for the blades/things. The blades are priced about right, with an additional $5 for a handy carrying case. For $25 for a set of 12, you get a set of multi-purpose blades that can be used for demolition work and straight, clean cuts. I find that Dewalt (yellow) bi-metal blades are thinner and much more likely to flex and flex. I used a fresh Dewalt 18 TPI blade to cut the top of the guardrail and bent the blade after the first cut. Milwaukee blades feel almost 50% thicker and don't flex. Cut after cut, they stay even and straight. Excellent value for money for an excellent set of stronger and thicker saw blades.

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • I have doubts
