!2V AC/DC LED bulbs with standard Edison sockets are great! Obviously useful on boats or off the grid, there are at least two possible, somewhat unexpected places to consider: Outdoor lighting installations are trivial when using standard 12 volt garden wiring that requires no conduit. And then it's as simple as taking an old standard lamp and screwing in a 12 volt (and pretty bright) lightbulb. Another application I think is home emergency lighting. Much better than candles and much easier than a generator when the power goes out, a few more casually used lights under the house with a charged car battery.
